Although the club has its
headquarters in Canterbury, it
is very much countrywide as the
name implies. There are a
sprinkling of members and
families throughout the North
Island, but as can be expected,
many more in the South Island.
Approximately 60 per cent of
club members would be in
Canterbury, with the remainder
in other parts of the South
Island and Overseas. It is
great to have so many joining
who live in Otago and
Southland. Membership is attained by
interested people applying for
nomination. A
completed nomination form is
received by the Committee and
forwarded to the following Club
Meeting as a new
nomination. From
there the name/s are published
in the next issue of the
magazine. At the
following month's Club meeting
the new nominations are put to
the vote and if accepted become
new members.
Being such a young Club, it is
almost unbelievable to realize
that the Club is by far the
biggest Vintage Machinery Club
in the country. After our first
three years in existence we had
exceeded the 500 members mark,
this being made up of over 300
families, now nine years after
we started we have over 500
memberships, many of which are
family memberships taking our
number to in excess of
700, and every month we
welcome more members to our
number. Merchandise available
from the Club at present is
Club badges, monograms, vinyl
transfers for tractor or car,
and caps. |
